The 1985 Ford Thunderbird was a ninth-generation carryover with a mild facelift, including a revised grille, bumpers, and taillights. The lineup kept the 232 cubic inch (3.8L) V6 as standard, the 302 cubic inch (5.0L) V8 as optional, and the Turbo Coupe with its turbocharged 2.3L four-cylinder. It remained a two-door coupe offered in base, Elan, Fila, and Turbo Coupe trims.
