Ford Torino
1974 Ford Torino Specs & Photos
The 1974 Ford Torino added a matching 5 mph rear bumper to the third-generation body, and the 460 cu in (7.5L) V8 replaced the 429 as the top engine, offered only with automatic transmission and dual exhaust. Ford also spun off the personal-luxury Gran Torino Elite coupe, a twin to the Mercury Cougar XR-7 fitted with a vinyl roof and opera windows. Engines ran from the 250 cu in (4.1L) inline-six through the 302, 351, and 400 V8s to the 460, all in SAE net horsepower, and 1974 was the last year for the 351 Cobra Jet and the four-speed manual. Body styles included two-door and four-door hardtops and the station wagon.
The 1974 Ford Torino is part of the Gran Torino generation (1972–1976). See the full Ford Torino 1972–1976 registry →
