The 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee carried the WJ into its second year with minimal changes, offered as Laredo or Limited. The 195 horsepower 4.0-liter inline six remained standard and the 235 horsepower 4.7-liter PowerTech V8 optional, with Quadra-Trac II and the Vari-Lok equipped Quadra-Drive system atop the four wheel drive lineup. Alongside Detroit production, Steyr in Graz, Austria assembled the WJ for markets outside North America.
