The 1995 Lincoln Mark VIII carried over the first-generation coupe and added a mid-year LSC (Luxury Sport Coupe) trim. The LSC used a true dual exhaust to raise the 4.6L DOHC 32-valve V8 to 290 horsepower, up from 280 in the base coupe, and swapped the 3.07 rear axle for a shorter 3.27 ratio. Late-1995 LSC cars were among the first vehicles from any automaker fitted with high-intensity-discharge (HID) headlamps. The base 1995 Mark VIII kept the 280 hp V8, the 4R70W four-speed automatic, and standard air suspension.
