The 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII was the final model year, carrying over the facelifted second-generation coupe before Lincoln ended the Mark line. It retained the all-aluminum 4.6L DOHC 32-valve V8, rated at 280 horsepower in the base car and 290 in the dual-exhaust LSC, with the 4R70W four-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive. Standard equipment on the 1998 Mark VIII included computer-controlled air suspension, all-speed traction control, HID headlamps, and the full-width neon rear brake light.
