Mazda carried the MX-6 into 1994 in RS and LS trim on the second-generation GE platform. A passenger-side airbag was added, joining the driver's airbag fitted from launch. Powertrains were unchanged: the 118 horsepower FS 2.0-liter four in the RS and the 164 horsepower KL-DE 2.5-liter V6 in the LS, each with a five-speed manual or optional four-speed automatic.
