i needed a place to mount the plug for the controller. i soldered new wires to the plug and ran them to the solenoid pack. i decided it would be better to mount it to the body instead of the bumper incase i have to pull the bumper off to service the winch, it would be hard to get the connector off each time. also it has less chance of damage from stepping on it.
i mounted it on the driver side so it will give more slack to use the controller from inside the vehicle. and the cord wont have to go over the cable where it can cause issues
