I mounted the footman's loops on the inside of the bedsides instead of the top. I did this partially because of a lack of space on the top of the bedside, but also so that I will not have to remove the footman's loops when I switch back to the hardtop in the fall. I had to cut a portion of the interior trim panel away in order to make room for the loop, I used a dremel and a sharp knife to do this.
