I've noticed that some coil buckets have this thing at the botto…

I've noticed that some coil buckets have this thing at the bottom and some don't. Why is it there? I don't really know. Maybe it's supposed to keep the coil from running on the rivets? Doesn't really matter now, I cut the driver's side one off.
