System drained, hoses removed...take the old core out put the new one in. It's sort of a pain in the ass because it's a bit tight. You have to slide it inbetween the core cover and the dashboard at an angle, but you'll get it in. Obviously, the cooper lines go in the holes in the background. Put the hoses back on, put the core cover back on (don't forget the air flow direction line) and fill the system with coolant.

You should be ready go. Unfortunately, I was not good to go. Like I said, it was $25 and an hour of my time, but I went thru all that and the problem turned out to be the second of the two options...the thermostat
