I heard this happen, but I didn't know what it was at the time, and I didn't notice anything unusual until ~30min later after finishing Chrysler Canyon, returning to the parking lot, and starting a new trail. It took a couple of hours to buy a replacement & swap it in so I could continue wheeling. This is my 2nd trail breakage.
