Even after all that, the (relatively new) windshield gasket was still leaking. And in the process of installing the new one, the original windshield broke. So we put in a new gasket (with a LOT of RightStuff) & a new PPG (Chinese) w/s, and we're waiting for some rain to assess the effect.
