Jack up the side of the truck. put support under it, take the tire off. take the lockout cap bolts out and tap the cap off.

I have Warn Standard lockouts which are damaged and giving me trouble. Got MileMarker Stainless lockouts to replace them

All parts i order i ordered as a 1986 Chevy K20.

Avoid using cinder blocks like I did. its very unsafe. I used my hoist to lift most of the trucks weight while the blocks just keep the axles off the ground
