for whatever the reason was. On the 88 style firewall, they placed a reinforcement on the outside of the firewall i guess to just stiffen it up and the reinforcement went up to the upper cowl assembly.

Now on the 95 firewall, if you look back, the placed the reinforcement on the inside of the firewall & it didn't extend past the seam.
