Getting the transmission into place to go up. I didn't want to mess with the crossmember (they're REALLY well bolted on on Ford trucks), so I figured I'd slide the output shaft over the top of it, back it up, and then slide the input shaft into the engine.

That was a big mistake. I fought with it for hours until it finally got dark. I *could* have easily done this if I hadn't put the engine in first (which is in at this point), but I didn't. The next morning, I took the time to unbolt the cross member (which, no, is not easy to remove, and takes a 15mm and 18mm for what it's worth), but it was a lot easier to remove than wrestling with that transmission for hours.

After the crossmember was moved, the transmission went right in.
