The 1994 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class belonged to the R129 generation and was the first model year to use the class-first naming (SL320, SL500, SL600) in place of the earlier 500 SL style. Engine choices spanned the 3.2L M104 inline-six in the SL320 (about 228 hp), the 5.0L M119 V8 in the SL500 (about 315 hp), and the 6.0L M120 V12 in the SL600 (about 389 hp), all with automatic transmissions. It was a two-seat roadster with a power soft top, an automatic pop-up rollover bar, and an available removable hardtop.
