Mercedes-Benz SL-Class
2004 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Specs & Photos
The 2004 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class was part of the R230 generation introduced for 2003, which brought the power-folding Vario-roof retractable hardtop in place of the previous soft top. The lineup included the SL500 with a 5.0L M113 V8 (about 302 hp), the supercharged 5.4L SL55 AMG (about 493 hp), and, new for 2004, the SL600 with a 5.5L twin-turbo M275 V12 (about 493 hp). The SL500 paired its V8 with the 7-speed 7G-Tronic automatic that phased in for 2004, and every version was a two-seat roadster with the folding metal roof.
