The 2004 Toyota Tundra added the Double Cab, the first Tundra with four full-size forward-hinged doors, a longer frame, and a power vertical-drop rear window. The Double Cab joined the existing Regular Cab and Access Cab bodies. 2004 was also the final year for the 3.4-liter V6 and the 245-horsepower pre-VVT-i version of the 4.7-liter V8 before the 2005 powertrain update.
