The first step is to align the strike bolt so the door is perfectly aligned with the body line when it's fully closed. Check vertical alignment against the body lines, and horizontal alignment between the surface of the door & the surface of the body (flushness). Front-to-back alignment (spacing) isn't critical at this point.
