Rather than drilling holes in a replacement tailgate to keep the original pad in-place, [url=https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00823JCA6]UHMWPE[/url] or [url=https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00823JFM6]PTFE tape[/url] doesn't have enough friction to the rubber to be pushed. And it's nearly clear, so it can go over any color, including a tape stripe. Keeping the rubber bumper CLEAN, and applying [url=https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0036VMLH0]silicone grease[/url]/[url=https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0042NWOLY]spray[/url] or [url=https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085B3ZF8G]dry PTFE spray[/url] to the rubber will also keep it from pushing the pad.

And it's nearly clear, so it can go over any color, including a tape stripe. Keeping the rubber bumper CLEAN, and applying silicone grease/spray or dry PTFE spray to the rubber will also keep it from pushing the pad.
