The black clip is a heavy spring that keeps the visor up when the outer arms are in the machined flats. But the torque to fold the visor down puts a lot of stress on the hardboard between the heavy rivet on the R, and the small rivet in the edge tube, which is why it's distorted there. IDK why the 2 pieces of metal don't overlap, or why they couldn't build it as 1 piece.
The colored plastic around the bend in the arm has the typical cracks. I haven't found any way to repair them.![]()
