1997 Buick Regal Specs & Photos
The 1997 Buick Regal launched the fourth generation on the front-wheel-drive GM W-body platform, offered only as a four-door sedan in LS and GS trims. The LS used the naturally aspirated 3800 Series II V6 (231 cubic inch, 3.8L, L36) rated at 200 horsepower, while the GS added an Eaton supercharger (L67) for 240 hp and 280 lb-ft. Both drove the front wheels through a 4T65-E four-speed automatic. This generation dropped the two-door body style that earlier Regals had offered.
