The 2007 Ford Crown Victoria continued with the 4.6L SOHC modular V8 and the 4R75E four-speed automatic. The civilian engine made 224 horsepower with single exhaust and 239 horsepower with the dual-exhaust high-output tune, with the Police Interceptor at 250 horsepower. The car used the 2003 boxed, partly hydroformed frame with rack-and-pinion steering on the rear-wheel-drive Panther platform.
