The 1993 Ford F-150 carried the ninth-generation "Aeronose" body with the 300-cubic-inch (4.9L) inline-six base engine and the 5.0L and 5.8L V8 options. The model year introduced the first-generation Ford F-150 SVT Lightning, a street performance truck built by Ford's Special Vehicle Team using a tuned 5.8L (351 Windsor) V8 rated at 240 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of torque, paired only with the E4OD automatic. The 1993 F-150 4x4 retained the Twin-Traction Beam front suspension on a Dana 44.
