GMC Jimmy
1979 GMC Jimmy Specs & Photos
The 1979 GMC Jimmy was the full-size, K5-based sport utility, GMC's badge-engineered counterpart to the Chevrolet K5 Blazer on the 1973-1991 GM full-size truck platform. It used a two-door body with a removable fiberglass rear roof section and was offered in rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive form. Power came from GM small-block V8s, including the 350 cu in (5.7L) V8, paired with manual or automatic transmissions. Only the full-size Jimmy existed in 1979, four years before the compact S-15 Jimmy arrived for 1983.
