The 1994 GMC Jimmy was the compact SUV built on GM's S-platform, sharing its structure with the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer. 1994 was the final model year of the first-generation compact Jimmy (1983-1994) before the redesigned GMT330 second generation arrived for 1995. It used the 4.3L (262 cu in) Vortec V6 and was offered in two-door and four-door body styles with rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive. The full-size Jimmy had ended after 1991, so by 1994 the Jimmy name referred only to this compact model.
