The 1985 GMC Jimmy was sold as two distinct vehicles. The full-size Jimmy, the GMC twin of the Chevrolet K5 Blazer on the 1973-1991 GM full-size truck platform, remained a two-door SUV with a removable rear roof and V8 power in rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive. The compact S-15 Jimmy, sharing the S-platform with the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer, continued as a two-door with a 2.8L (173 cu in) V6. 1985 fell mid-run for both lines, several years before the compact gained a four-door body for 1991.
