GMC Jimmy
1989 GMC Jimmy Specs & Photos
The 1989 GMC Jimmy was offered as two separate vehicles. The full-size Jimmy, GMC's version of the Chevrolet K5 Blazer on the 1973-1991 GM full-size truck platform, was in its final years before becoming the Yukon and carried a 5.7L (350 cu in) V8. The compact S-15 Jimmy, sharing the S-platform with the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer, offered a standard 2.8L (173 cu in) V6 with the larger 4.3L (262 cu in) V6, introduced for 1988, as an option; the 2.8L V6 was dropped after 1989. Both were two-door SUVs available in rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive; the compact four-door had not yet arrived.
