The 2007 Mazda Miata introduced the power retractable hardtop, a two-piece folding roof that opened in about 12 seconds and stowed without reducing trunk volume, adding about 77 pounds over the soft top. The 170 horsepower 2.0-liter four and the 5-speed and 6-speed manual gearboxes carried over from the NC's debut year.
