Note that the crankshaft thrust washers are located etther stde of n04 matn beating: label each washer as tt is removed from noA cap. and sltde out and label the two thrust washers from the crankcase. 5. Inspect the ' journals crankptns thrust faces and rear ange otl sealtng s -r scortng or vtstble wear. -asure the toumals and crankptrts: Standard journal diameter 64955 - 64.965 mm (25573 - 25578 tn). iandard crankpin dtameter: 47.756 - 47.772 mm (1.5802 - 18808 tn). = --.n oumal and big end shells are avatlable tn u.- I.25mm and 0.50mm. Crankshaft Relttment 1. Ft the upper matn beanng shells tnto the block w'nh the locaan labs engaged tn thetr slots Note that the upper shells have a hole to altgn with the oilway in the block, and a groove to matntatn an otl feed to the adtaoent crankptn Lower shells, frrted tnto the matn beanng caps, are plain. with no hole or groove. All ve beanngs use identtcal shells. but if retttng the origtnal shells. care should be taken to ret in their ortgtnal pos'ttons.
