The first real test-drive was to lunch on a hot day with 3 guys in the truck, A/C on max, going about 20 miles on a rural highway. It became immediately apparent that the small V8 & big tires were causing the transmission to lug in O/D and downshift too often. So most of the trip was done with O/D OFF. The A/C had no trouble keeping the truck comfortable, even when idling for a half hour in the sun.
