Disassembled ignition lock cylinder and spring on a paper towel

After cleaning the contacts (with Electrical Contact Cleaner), apply a light film of silicone electrical grease, and reassemble the switch. Use a toothbrush to clean the collar's knurling. Use grease to retain the detent pins while reassembling the switch & collar.
