MGB 18G/18GA Torque Wrench Settings - Engine, Axle, Suspension & Steering Specs

The page lists complete factory torque wrench settings, given in both lb. ft. and kg. m., organized by system. Engine specifications include main bearing nuts (70 lb. ft.), cylinder head nuts (45–50 lb. ft.), big-end bolts (35–40 lb. ft.), flywheel set screws (40 lb. ft.), rocker bracket nuts, oil pump, sump, timing cover, rear plate, water pump, manifold, oil filter, clutch-to-flywheel, carburetter, distributor clamp, and fan blade fasteners. Rear axle values cover the crown wheel to differential carrier (55–60 lb. ft.), differential bearing cap (60–65 lb. ft.), pinion bearing nut (135–140 lb. ft.), rear brake adjuster nuts, and bearing retaining nut (180 lb. ft.). Suspension figures include rear shock absorber bolts (55–60 lb. ft.), front shock absorber bolts, brake disc to hub, brake calliper mounting, front bearing retaining nut, and cross-member to body. Steering torques cover the steering arm bolts, steering-wheel nut, tie-rod locknut, lever ball joint nut, and universal joint bolt. Road wheel nuts are specified at 60–65 lb. ft.
