5.8L Fuel Tank Vent Grommet The original had softened & collapsed when the truck sat for 6 years, and it was starting to crack radially. So I got this new one, and I'm ordering some spares. There are 2 PNs for this grommet, depending how it gets looked up. This PN ( E8UZ-9B076-A) is what comes up as the interchange for the original engineering number molded into the grommet ( E8UA-9B076-AA), and the new grommet has the same mold number, so it's probably a revised rubber material. We found a different number when looking it up by application, and I don't know if that one is correct yet. This larger blue vapor valve ( E8UZ-9B593-A) is for 5.8L & 7.5L trucks. The grommet for 4.9L & 5.0L ( F6TZ-9B076-AA) fits the same hole, but uses a smaller single-port valve (E7DZ-9B593-A), so the rubber is thicker.

Power Memory Signal Heated Mirror with Puddle Lamp & Off-Roading LED floods for '92-96 F-series & Broncos. The memory motors & wiring harness came from an Explorer/Mountaineer/Expedition/Navigator, as will the memory module which will also control the power-adjustable memory pedals (also from a Navigator), and the memory seats (which will probably come from an Explorer/Mountaineer). The puddle, signal, & off-road LEDs, and the heaters came from eBay. For instructions on how to add these features, read the captions in this album:

Energy 4.4109 Body Mount Kit contains 8x 4030 bushings which fit the 6x 4031s, but none to fit the 2x 4071 bushings. IF THE IMAGE IS TOO SMALL, click it. I contacted Energy, and although they acknowledged the problem, they offered no solution. So I came up with my own. Using the kit as-supplied will result in the #2 body mount position (under the front footwells) being loose on the frame perches. This could potentially cause noise, body shift, wear on the frame, or broken bolts. But with the pockets enlarged in two of the 4030 bushings, the #2 position will clamp down onto the frame perch just like all the others. I heated a short piece of pipe with a propane torch, centered & pressed it into a bushing, continued heating it until it sank about as deep as the original pocket, cooled the bushing in water, and then trimmed away the slag with a wide carpenter's chisel. More recently, I've just used a utility knife & wood chisel. I contacted Energy again in 2023, and they say they're going to re-examine this issue...

Before I washed & wire-brushed it, this was a grimy old junkyard part. I prefer this to a new Chinese one. I clear-coated the metal with Dupli-Color engine paint. Equivalent to F2TZ-2282-B, (w/clipped vent hose) F2UZ-2282-A, (w/o ABS clips) E8TZ-2282-B .

The autoadjusters are available new, but they're expensive. The left always has 1 ring cut near its closed end, but the right may have 2 or none. The screw has L or R embossed in its unthreaded tip. The unthreaded cap has 3 rings or none, and fits L & R. There is also a very small, thin washer between that end and the wheel. Left Adjuster Kit MotorCraft BRAK2544A (plug, cable, guide, pawl, 4-pc autoadjuster) Right Adjuster Kit MotorCraft BRAK2545AThe other parts shown (and the e-brake levers & piston pushrods) are NOT available new. Now that these factory-original parts have been thoroughly cleaned & painted with high-temp paint, they're probably better than new. But I'm not applying brake grease until I'm ready to install them.

'96-97 Left Cowl Plug F6TB-15020A51-AA

JY hitch receiver Eaz-Lift V5 I chose this one because of how high the receiver is (close to the bumper). The top of this 2.5" crosstube is 2.5" below the frame, which puts the top of the 2.5" (outside) receiver tube 5" below the frame. I recommend a CURT 13310 (included in a Curt 14001-55317 package), but a DrawTite 75038 might be just as good as this Eaz-Lift.
The hitch receiver's rear bolt holes line up with the previously-drilled holes in the frame, and the others are far enough away that I won't have to fill-weld them. UPDATE: This frame was bent too badly, so I salvaged it and moved onto a '96 frame.

I stumbled across this pristine '87-91-style XLT bumper, and couldn't pass it up. The rub strips will be perfect for mounting the rear parking sensors. . . I'm also considering these LED license lamps: BlackChrome w/red
I prefer the later top pad, which overhangs the top edges and includes the license plate screw holes. Fortunately, its pins are laid out the same, so it fits this older bumper which uses face pads. That's where I'll put my reverse sensors. . . I'm also considering these LED license lamps: BlackChrome w/red

In addition to the actual revised PCV parts, I also got the revised vacuum nipples. This short hose is F5TE- -BA, and the long hose is F4TE-6A664-AB or F4TE-6A664-BB . I'll scrub them clean before installation. The old elbow at the back of the plenum will be removed & plugged.
The revised vacuum nipples have the single (larger) at the front for the PCV, and the tree (longer) at the back for everything else. I might use both trees, just in case I need more vacuum lines.

New Davico 14412N Direct-Fit Catalytic Converter Assembly ~$250 delivered possibly equivalent to AB Catalytic 44810 or MagnaFlow 23661. Before installation, I'll remove all the oil & stickers (by washing with brake cleaner & PurplePower), add a hanger & flange near the muffler, and prime & paint the assembly like I did the exhaust manifolds. . . . UPDATE: Since it's closer to being drivable, this is now on my '95B XLT 5.8L:

I hate U-clamps, so I'm building flanges to bolt the muffler on, like a '96 Bronco's. I'll use the one currently under my '83 to set this flange's position & rotation before welding. If I can't find another original '96 muffler for this truck, I'll build one from a Walker stainless muffler, a locally-bent stainless tailpipe, and I'll make a stainless flange. This flange fits the pipe so well that I can position & rotate it by hand, but it stays where I put it. . . .
Walker 22798 Stainless Steel Muffler made in USA is nearly identical to the original. The body is 1" shorter than a '96 Bronco's muffler. I paid ~$100 delivered. .
To match the stainless muffler, I built a stainless hanger from some 3/8" rod and a sheared strip of ~16ga molded around the old muffler. The gray primer/sealed one is the factory Carbon-steel part that I'm copying. .

Instead of relying on the antique hard-plastic vacuum lines or new vulcanized rubber, I collected several colors of 3mmIDx8~9mmID color-matched silicone tubing from eBay. It won't harden, melt, crack, tear, or degrade from UV. Black is usually ~$0.50/ft (~$1.5/meter); colors are about double that. . . .
