1980 Ford F-150 Specs & Photos

The 1980 Ford F-150 opened the seventh-generation F-Series, the first full redesign of the line since 1965. Ford gave it an all-new cab, body, and chassis with a sloped hood and faired-in headlamps shaped to cut drag, the look owners later called the Bullnose. The biggest engineering change was Twin-Traction Beam (TTB) independent front suspension on the 4x4, built around a Dana 44 front axle, while two-wheel-drive trucks used Twin-I-Beam. The base engine was the 300-cubic-inch (4.9L) inline-six, with the 302 (5.0L) Windsor V8 and the carried-over M-series 351M and 400 V8s above it; the 351 Windsor replaced the M-series V8s later in the generation.
