The 1973 Ford F-250 opened the sixth-generation F-Series, the "Dentside," as the three-quarter-ton truck on the new body. The base engine was the 300 inline-six, with the 302 and 351 Windsor V8s, the 360 and 390 FE big-blocks, and the 460 (7.5L) available. The 1973 F-250 4x4 used a solid front axle.
