The 1979 Ford F-250 was the final year of the Dentside generation, carrying over the 300 inline-six, the 302 and 351 Windsor, the 351M and 400, and the 460 (7.5L) before the 1980 redesign. The 1979 F-250 4x4 used a solid front axle for the last time, ahead of the switch to Twin-Traction Beam independent front suspension for 1980.
