The 1977 Ford F-250 replaced the FE-series 360 and 390 big-blocks with the 335-series 351M and 400 V8s, joining the 300 inline-six, the 302 and 351 Windsor, and the 460. The Highboy four-wheel-drive configuration was phased out around this model year. The 1977 F-250 4x4 used a solid front axle.
