1996 Ford Probe Specs & Photos
The 1996 Ford Probe carried minor updates on the second-generation Mazda GE platform. The base car used the Mazda FS 2.0-liter four rated at 118 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque, and the GT used the Mazda KL 2.5-liter V6, which remained rated at 164 horsepower with torque rising to 160 lb-ft. The 1996 Probe shared its mechanicals with the Mazda MX-6 and 626 and was built at the Flat Rock, Michigan plant operated as AutoAlliance International.
