the tailgate was completly falling apart at the seams and rusting baddly due to the window opening. the window linkage was completely rusted in place plus i usually keep the top off of it. i decided to go aread and get some aluminum diamond plate sheet steel and fold it over the opening. this effectively holds the tailgate together and and keeps water out.
