I think it's about 800lb of cargo because each of the 13 sandbags weighs 50lb. The hitch hauler itself is another ~100 lb, so that's close to 1/2 ton, not including the bumper & whatever's in the truck.

UPDATE 9/8/15 : I did it again with 13 100# bags of industrial quartz sand.
