The R door had been locked shut for about a week, and the weather finally got good enough to check it out. The hard part was removing the full door panel with the door closed. Frank (Mr. Optimistic) assured me it couldn't be done without damage. Turned out to be a loose rod in the outside pushbutton jamming the lock mechanism, which also disabled the INside handle. So after examining the latch, I came up with a simple modification to make the inside handle failsafe, shown in this album:



Next visit, we'll modify the other latch.
