The 1985 Mercury Marquis was the midsize Fox-platform sedan and wagon, in its third year as the twin of the Ford LTD. The standard engine was the 2.3L overhead-cam four, and the optional 3.8L Essex V6 used central fuel injection. It was the nameplate's next-to-last year: the front-drive Sable arrived for 1986 and the Marquis was retired at the end of that model year.
