The 1995 Nissan Maxima launched the fourth generation and introduced the VQ30DE, a 3.0-liter DOHC V6 rated at 190 horsepower and the first engine in the long-running VQ line. The VQ30DE appeared on the inaugural Ward's 10 Best Engines list that year. Trims were GXE, SE, and GLE, with a 5-speed manual available on the SE. Motor Trend named the 1995 Maxima its Import Car of the Year.
