The 1997 Nissan Maxima received the fourth generation's mid-cycle facelift, with a revised grille, headlights, and taillights. The 190-horsepower VQ30DE 3.0-liter V6 carried over, as did the GXE, SE, and GLE trim lineup. The refresh left the A32 chassis and running gear intact.
