1970 Pontiac Firebird Specs & Photos

The 1970 Pontiac Firebird launched the second generation on February 26, 1970, a mid year debut that led many to call these cars 1970 and a half models. The lineup split into base, Esprit, Formula 400, and Trans Am, all sharing the new Endura nosed fastback body. The Trans Am's standard Ram Air III 400 was rated 345 hp gross, with the Ram Air IV optional at 370 hp gross.
