The 1976 Pontiac Firebird marked the last year for the 455, rated 200 hp net. A black and gold 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Trans Am celebrated Pontiac's 1926 founding, and some of those cars carried the first Firebird T tops, installed as Hurst Hatches. The black and gold scheme previewed the Special Edition look of the following years.
