By 1968 the Jeep CJ5 was in its final Kaiser Jeep years, pairing the standard 134 cubic inch F-head four (75 hp gross) with the optional 225 Dauntless V6 (155 hp gross). The Spicer 18 transfer case offered a 2.46:1 low range plus an available rear power takeoff, a holdover from the CJ's working-vehicle roots. The Dana 27 front axle, Dana 44 rear, and 81 inch wheelbase all carried over.
