Aftermarket Double-DIN Stereo Wiring Diagram - Wire Colors & Harness Pinout Tag
Wiring diagram for a car radio head unit showing color-coded speaker, power, accessory and ground connections.
This document is the rear-panel wiring label (wiring tag) from an aftermarket double-DIN car stereo/head unit, photographed and uploaded to a 2001 Ford Excursion gallery. It shows the back of the unit with its heat-sink vents, RCA jack layout (GPS, V1 OUT, SUB, L IN, RL, FL, FM-ANT, V IN, R IN, RR, FR, IF), and a full wiring harness pinout diagram. The legend identifies each harness wire by color and function: BLUE = radio antenna (power antenna), YELLOW = battery, RED = ACC, BLACK = ground, ORANGE+BLACK = amplifier control, ORANGE = back (reverse signal), ORANGE+WHITE = illumination, PINK = KEY2, BROWN = KEY1 (steering wheel controls), and BLUE+WHITE = brake. Speaker wiring is GREEN/GREEN+BLACK for rear-left, PURPLE/PURPLE+BLACK for rear-right, GREY/GREY+BLACK for front-right, and WHITE/WHITE+BLACK for front-left. A separate RCA input is labeled REAR VIEW CAMERA IN. A notice states the product is suitable for a negative-grounded DC power system, rated at 12V and 15A. This label is what an installer would use to wire the aftermarket radio into a vehicle's harness.
