1991 Ford 5.8L Emission Control Label & Vacuum Hose Routing - Crown Victoria
Ford Vehicle Emission Control Information underhood label including a vacuum hose routing diagram for a 1991 model.
This is a photograph of the factory Ford Motor Company Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) decal affixed to the underside of the hood (visible near the cooling fan shroud area). The label applies to a 5.8L carbureted engine (engine family MFM5.8V2HJF7, calibration/label code 5.8L-9EG) equipped with electronic carburetor controls (MCU/FB feedback system) and emission hardware AIP/EGR/EGS/OC/TWC, and it states the vehicle conforms to U.S. EPA regulations for the 1991 model year. The left portion gives tune-up procedures: ignition timing set to 14° BTDC at 600 RPM max with the distributor vacuum hose plugged and ignition module jumpered; fast idle 1650 RPM in Park (1500 RPM under 100 miles); curb idle 700 RPM in Drive using the throttle stop screw and VOTM bracket adjusting screw; and accelerator pump lever lash pre-load set to .010 ± .005 gap then one turn counterclockwise. It specifies spark plug ASF-42 gapped at .042–.046 and SAE 10W-30 API SG Energy Conserving II oil. The right side shows the color-coded vacuum hose routing diagram with components including the ACV, upstream/downstream air, solenoid valves, carburetor, manifold vacuum, fuel tank line, TVV, and VCV, oriented with 'Front of Vehicle' marked.
